What you need

A gaming PC

Windows, macOS, or Linux, with Sunshine or Apollo installed and running.

An iPhone or iPad

GameSphere from TestFlight today, the App Store when the listing ships. Controllers are optional.

The Companion Tool

Free, on the gaming PC. It publishes your libraries into the host so covers show up. Downloads.

A path home

Same Wi-Fi for setup. Away from home: router port forwards, or a VPN you install (ZeroTier or Tailscale).

Pair once

  1. Put the phone and the PC on the same Wi-Fi, or the same VPN.
  2. Open GameSphere → Add your PC and tap the computer GameSphere finds.
  3. The app shows a PIN. Type that PIN in the Sunshine or Apollo window. The PIN is entered on the PC, not the other way around.
  4. Install Companion on that PC and refresh. The Sphere should fill with covers.

Forget a PC in Settings → Your PC. That removes the pairing on this device only.

Play, wake, or invite

On the couch or on a TV

Touch controls work without a pad. Xbox, PlayStation, MFi, and Switch Online controllers connect over Bluetooth. Plug the phone into a TV with USB-C HDMI, or use extended AirPlay, and the game fills the television while the phone stays the controller (Shortcuts+ or Pro). Pro adds the highest external-display picture mode and picture-in-picture.

What GameSphere is not

Where data goes

Pairing and the game stream talk to your host. Cover art may send a game title to IGDB or SteamGridDB. Optional Steam or RetroAchievements sign-in uses those services. Purchases go through Apple. The longer version is the privacy policy.
